Alpine Committee

  • News

The newly restructured Alpine Committee, formerly Alpine Auxiliary, held its first meeting on Wednesday, Nov 12. Seven of our regular members joined them for a nice pot-luck dinner and short meeting. As those present introduced themselves and shared brief bios, there were lots of exclamations of “I didn’t know that!” The meeting adjourned shortly before 7:00 when work began on a Cedar Closet Christmas project. Twenty boxes of pre-sorted Christmas ornaments and seasonal items were waiting to be priced. Pre-printed price stickers, tags, and pens were at the ready.

In an hour and a half all of the merchandise was priced and ready to be put on the sales floor, and more than 50 Christmas ornaments were hung on a display tree downstairs. Working together was a lot of fun, and they enjoyed seeing all the Christmas decorations. For the Cedar Closet, the evening was extremely productive, and the project was a very positive experience for all who participated. As the Alpine Committee redefines its mission to serve ALF and the Flagstaff community, we are off to a great start.
